Avocado & Hummus Sandwich

This hummus avocado sandwich is an easy lunch idea for any active toddler. Made with mashed avocado, hummus, and a sprinkle of hemp seeds. Serve with cut fruit and your toddler's favorite veggies for a well-rounded meal.

Avocado & Hummus Sandwich

  • 1/4 avocado, ripe
  • 2 tbsp hummus, any flavor
  • pieces bread, whole wheat, whole grain or white
  • pinch of hemp seeds (optional)


  1. On a cutting board, place the avocado and mash it with the back of a fork until smooth. 
  2. Place both pieces of bread on the cutting board and spread the avocado on one side and the hummus on the other side. 
  3. Sprinkle one of the sides with hemp seeds. 
  4. Press the two sides together and cut them into small triangles or squares. 


Age: 12+ months 

Storage: this sandwich is best eaten the day of making. It can be served right away or packed into a lunch.
