Banana Cherry & Beet Puree
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 12 ounces
Age: 7+ months
Ingredients
- 3 medium bananas
- 2/3 cup cherries fresh or frozen, pitted
- 1/4 cup red beets peeled and finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions
-
In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil. Place beets into a steamer basket. If using frozen cherries (fresh cherries can be added during blending) add them on top of the beets. Put over the boiling water, cover, and steam for 7-9 minutes or until the beets tender with a fork. Reserve steamer water.
-
Place the beets, cherries, bananas and lemon juice into a blender or food processor and puree for 1-2 minutes on high or until completely smooth. You may need to add in some additional reserved water to thin it out, if so start by adding 1 tablespoon of water in at a time or until you reach your desired consistency. I did not add any additional water to my puree.
