  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk - regular or any plain plant-based milk
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or olive or avocado oil

  1. Prep: preheat a waffle iron.
  2. Mix Ingredients: in a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt. Add in the egg, milk, maple syrup, and butter and stir until just incorporated.
  3. Add Pears: add in the pears and gently fold the ingredients together.
  4. Make Waffles: scoop the batter into your waffle maker and cook accordingly to your waffle maker's directions. My waffle maker cooked these for 3 minutes.
  5. Serve: let cool and serve with a side of yogurt to dip the waffles in, a drizzle of maple syrup, or a smear of nut butter on top.
